"THE 'LADY KATIE' ROUNDING HOOPER STRAIT LIGHTHOUSE"
offered at $26,000
Acrylic, 24 in by 36 in.

This most dramatic scene shows the Hooper Strait Light in its red-roofed form before it was painted green and before it was relocated to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Maryland. This is a scene straight out of storied Chesapeake history, when skipjacks headed out early, regardless of weather. This is a classis example of John Barber at his most majestic.

Playa Hermosa
"PLAYA HERMOSA"
Oil 8" x 10"
A plein aire piece, John Barber painted this scene on site while on vacation with his son in Costa Rica. It beautifully conveys the peace and beauty of a tropic paradise.
