When a Bollinger hangs in your home or office, people will look at it…and ask about it. Richard Bollinger’s special talent brings the inspiring elements of peace, serenity, drama and vitality to every painting, and later to every print. Richard says, “Much of my work is bolder now than when I began painting in the 70’s and 80’s. Now my palette includes light, shadows, water and emotion to create an image with dimension and meaning to people.”
In 1997 he released the first paintings in a series of marine scenes from the Chesapeake Bay area. The first collections focused on Annapolis and were immensely popular. In future years Rick plans to explore other areas of the Bay and offer additional works.
After freelancing for a few years illustrating children’s books, Richard began to develop his watercolor style when he became Art Director at a small agency in Chester County, Pennsylvania. He took several paintings to the Chadds Ford Gallery in the early 70’s, and when his first solo show in 1976 was a sellout, the switch from commercial arts to fine arts was clear. Bollinger’s home and studio are in West Chester, PA.
